An integral part of product photography, especially small products such as jewelry, is using the right prop. The right prop not only enhances the shot but also adds that little bit of magic which brings the whole shot together. Yes, of course, the product (which in this particular case is the jewelry) is the focus of the image, but the props assume a place of importance too in the whole scheme of things.

The course is split up into 3 in-depth videos. Each clip will focus on a specific part of the shoot. The 3 parts that make up this course are, namely: styling, lighting, and post-production editing. During the styling stage, the instructor will be introduced, the product will be identified and the materials and design will be decided upon.

A DSLR or Mirrorless camera would be helpful to use for this class since we will be demonstrating the effects one can get when adjusting your aperture. If a student knows some of the capabilities of using a phone or tablet's camera, then that may also be used for this class.
Knowledge in the basics of photography can also be helpful so you can understand how setting your lens can give you the depth-of-field that you may be looking for.
